South Orange Rescue Squad shall provide initial and annual training and competency verification to all clinical staff members that are affiliated on the topic of administration of Albuterol Sulfate.

Administer and/or assist patients with medication for Atraumatic Chest Pain/Discomfort

AED program guidance
An automated external defibrillator (AED) is used to treat victims who experience sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). It is only to be applied to victims who are unconscious, not breathing normally and showing no signs of circulation, such as normal breathing, coughing and movement. The AED will analyze the heart rhythm and advise the operator if a shockable rhythm is detected.

Epinephrine Auto Injector training & Medical Direction
The administration of an epinephrine auto injector is authorized in the event that a patient present with an allergic reaction/anaphylactic shock in accordance with the attached protocols

CPAP - Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV) training and medical direction
South Orange Rescue Squad as a BLS agency affiliated with RWJBH Medical Direction are permitted to perform Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV) per the attached protocols.

Naloxone Administration to assist in the treatment of suspected opioid overdoses
South Orange Rescue Squad as a BLS agency affiliated with RWJBH Medical Direction are permitted to administer Naloxone for patients that exhibit signs and symptoms of an opiate overdose where respiratory depression is present.
